How to: Dye your eyebrows

I love dying my hair all different colours. My eyebrows are quite light as I'm naturally blonde but I do like to dye my eyebrows. I've done it once before and doing it again, so I thought I'd show you how I do it.
Please note, I am not a professional at hair colouring or eyebrow dying. What works for me may not always work for you, we're all different, it's what makes us beautiful (:

What you'll need;

-hair colour dye of your choice
-tint brush or cotton wool bud

My eyebrows are naturally lighter, if yours are dark I would advise to pre-lighten them. You can buy it in drugstores. I would not leave it on for long as it may start to burn!

Put a small amount of dye (of your choice to match your hair colour, or not!) on your tint brush/cotton wool bud and layer on your eyebrows. I make mine quite bulky making sure it's all covered.
Try not to get it on your skin, or it'll stain for a while, if you're messy, like me, you can just wipe it off with a bit of tissue.

I'm using Stargazer coral blue semi-dye, I left mine on for 30-45 minutes, I'd advise to dye in 10 minute intervals depending on the dye. After 10 minutes if it's not taken, apply for another 10 minutes and so on until you've reached your desired colour. To take off, I just wet a tissue and scrub and then dry. and done!

Good luck in your dying, and remember not to get it in your eyes! (:

tights: M&S

My cousins bought me this t-shirt for my 19th birthday (: I think it's so cute and love these designs.

I'm now kicking back and watching The Nightmare Before Christmas, getting into the Halloween mood! Behind in the photo is some decorations with spiders in them, super creepy!

My Sally costume is coming along great! I've finished the wig and going to spend the day sewing the dress tomorrow. Hopefully post it tomorrow and about my 19th birthday (:

Are you doing anything for Halloween? xo

Hello Sally!

Hello everybody!

So right now it is past 1AM and I'm re-constructing my Sally The Ragdoll costume! I loved being her on Halloween a few years back but I must admit the costume was terrible! and the wig! It was way to big for me and it had no shape at all, I looked so frumpy! So I am making it come in at the waist and flare out with a netted skirt underneath, I was way too excited and started right away ha!
I'm really lucky to know a little bit of how clothing works and to re-construct things, I'm doing this to save money at the moment.

I'll post before and after pictures of course! I need to fill out the wig more too!

It is my birthday in two days! I'm so excited, I'm going to be 19 (: I'm having a birthday dinner tomorrow then seeing Jake on my actual birthday and going out for a meal with his parents as it's his mother's birthday 2 days after mine!

I bought polariod film today so I'll probably use it all up over this October!
Tomorrow I am dying my hair a sea foam colour, I can't wait!

I also went to the British Art Show 7 with college on Tuesday, I found it really inspiring and amazing, plus it was the first time Plymouth has had the show here, exciting. I'm going again tomorrow to gain inspiration on the project so I shall post photos of some artists artwork (:

and finally, I have a new laptop so I can post more now! yay! I'm so happy with it and I can finally get things properly sorted on here.

I hope you guys are having a wonderful Autumn, it's my favourite season!

Have you any ideas for what you want to go as for Halloween?!

Little post.

It's been a month since my last post, I'm so sorry. My laptop charger has broken, it started sparking, very scary! Hopefully I'll get a new one soon but for the mean time I'll have to post when I can.

My best friend has left for Swansea, Wales to start university. We had a last night together, making tacos, listening to music and scrapbooking. It was alot of fun (:

I'm really going to miss her but I know she's going to do so well (:

Lately I've been working on college work and still constantly designing in my little book to make products.

I feel a bit rusty on this as I haven't blogged in a month. I hope you guys can forgive me!

Have any of you started a new course in college or university this September?

Hope you're all having a wonderful day (:

P.S I'm now on the 5th Harry Potter book!

you built up a world of magic...

I've started a new personal project called 'you built up a world of magic'
it's a Paramore lyric that I love. I painted my art room the colour of Paramore's third album. I wanted to hang up frames on my wall like the album cover. Then I came up with this idea to paint some illustrations on my walls instead.
So what I'm going to do is paint (in my style) woodland creatures, all cute and cuddly (:
Then I'm hoping to paint the lyric on the wall. I'll keep you up to date with this project, I'm really excited about it!

I started today with a baby fawn;

(sorry the photo's suck. It's night time as I'm posting this and I have no window in this room)

I love her. She took around 5 hours to complete. This is all done in acrylic. Here's what I'm hoping to start painting tomorrow;

two foxes kissing, aww (:

I can't wait to start! xx

Under the sea!

(colour is Coral Blue by Stargazer)
yay! new coral blue hair! what do you think?

Summer is almost over and I really don't want it to be. I found out today my bestfriend is moving to Swansea in Wales for uni. I'm going to miss her, although it is closer than where she was originally going to go which means I can see her more often.

Also, I changed the blog, you like? Promise, promise you I will sell things soon! Just some things have happened and it's messed things up a little.

Anyway! i was thinking of making a blog about hair colouring, like tips and tricks on how to make it last and how to look after your hair. yes? let me know!

July/August... photo dump!

I've been so bad a blogging lately! But, this summer is probably my last break ever. I go back to college in about 3 weeks, I'm so nervous and really don't want to go.
Here are a few things I've been up to...

I attended my best friend's baptism. (She's now a devoted Jehovah's Witness)

I've been reading Harry Potter, I am now on the 4th book and cannot get enough!

I had my disposable camera developed and have a black and white one that needs to be developed too (:

I met the cutest Spaniel! His name is Ripper and he was so sweet (:

I snapped adorable photos of my nephew before he went away on his first holiday!

and finally, I've recently drawn some illustrations. This one is my favourite (:

I went back home for a couple of days to see my family. Me and Mama went to Pizza Express, my favourite mainstream place and then went to see my Grandparents.
I had my best friend and his Fiancé over last Saturday which was a bunch of fun!

We took Ripper on the Moors in Plymouth (where I'm from) and he had so much fun!

and while my brother and his girlfriend were on holiday with my little nephew, he proposed to her and she said yes! I'm so happy for them! (:

Today I feel very ill. I can hardly move without anything hurting. I think I might start posting products on my shop before I finish the skulls as there are too many! Everything else is finished apart from them... I'll think about it!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend (: xo

Review: Kat Von D, Kat Eye Brush Set

There’s no denying it, I’m a huge fan of Kat Von D. So when I found out about her make-up range, I was so excited! Her series, LA Ink, is shown later here in England and when I saw some episodes of her meeting with Sephora, I was so happy! You could see how motivated she was into the whole process of creating the range which I love seeing, rather than a celebrity putting their name on a product they don’t care about. If there’s one other talent Kat has other than tattooing it has to be make-up. Her make-up is always very bold, dark but also clean. It never looks over the top and she can always pull it off.

The packaging is very beautiful and has tattoo style flowers printed on the black case. The case closes and is held together by a magnetic popper. Inside, there is a little flap with Kat’s name and Sephora printed on, which keeps your brushes flat and clean. The bushes are placed in their own little slots, making it easier to keep the brushes organised. The material all together is very soft and light.

In the set there are 5 brushes. Angled shadow brush, blending brush, angled brow brush, smudge brush, flat eyeliner brush. When I saw the brushes I couldn’t wait to get started!
The brushes are so soft and easy to clean. The smudge brush is possibly my favourite, it picks up the shadows so well. The blending brush is fantastic to use afterwards and blends for ages. The angled shadow brush would be great for people that have bigger eyelids, this brush blends beautifully and you could achieve a beautiful shape around your eyelid.

I also used this brush to highlight just under my eyebrow and then blended the highlight into the purple colour. The flat eyeliner brush is very stiff, perfect for getting straight lines and creating any thickness of liner you desire. To be honest, I haven’t used the brow brush, I tend to leave my eyebrows but I have used it as an eyeliner brush. It is a little softer than the eyeliner brush and I think it’s great to use for the corners of your eyes.

The brushes are a perfect length to apply make-up with. They have the silver flower pattern, just like the case and Kat’s logo at the top, as you can see from the photo.

Overall, I am so impressed with the product. The packaging is beautiful and light weight so this would be easy to carry around in your bag for top ups. The brushes are so soft and strong, also create amazing application. My personal downfall to this product is that the whole range is not available outside of the US and Canada. Because of this, I had to search on Ebay, and the lowest I could get it for was £50. Where as, if Sephora shipped to the UK I could have bought it for £30. This doesn’t affect me too much as it is amazing value for money, but I would love to purchase her other products that I would have to pay extra for. I hope that they will ship everywhere soon as her products seem amazing quality. Apart from paying a lot, I am so, so happy with the product and highly recommend buying this! You will not be let down!

Fashion Show

I'm currently editing and choosing the photographs my friend took of our summer fashion show. I was a dresser back stage and man, was it tiring! My legs actually still hurt from standing and rushing all day! Trying to prepare all the lovely models is very underestimated indeed!
Nevertheless, I had so much fun and very proud of us all for doing so well and maintaining positive energy through out the 12 hour day! I had a blast!

More tomorrow, xo

What I wore; new hair!

Details:

Lace tights - Dorthy Perkins
Knee high socks - Peacocks
White shirt - used to be my mum's

I'm really enjoying my new hair. It wasn't scary, I love changing my hair all the time, I used to have this cut when I was 5! haha
I just really needed a change.

My mum has lost a lot of weight recently and I went through her old clothes and saw this, thought it'd be perfect for the beach but ended up wearing it anyway! The sleeves had a terrible pattern on at the bottom, so I cut them off. I didn't hem them, as I like the natural, ethnic look (:

I have something exciting coming up soon, I can't wait to get it finished!

AND
It's almost the end of college, I can't wait to interact with you guys more (:

Have a lovely weekend xo

Paramore bracelet - Paramore.net
Lace tights - Topshop
Owl necklace watch - Claire's accessories
Love necklace - Accsessorize
Brogues - River Island
Belt - H&M

This is my 'relaxing' outfit I wore today to college. Needed to be comfortable being sat at a machine for so long!

I love baggy clothing and belting it up!
I received my Paramore bracelet last week. If you don't know, I'm a huge fan of Paramore and I'm so lucky as the bracelet says one of my favourite lyrics 'you shine brighter, than anyone does.' From their first album (:

Just to let you guys know, I'm now on facebook! yay!
Here you can view all my artwork, paintings/drawings and so on, just thought it would be an easier place to store everything. xo

Cats on fabric!

It's 3 weeks left until the fashion show! I'm so excited and nervous!
Yesterday I finished the printed mock up of my dress and starting to make the final dress tomorrow! I fitted it to the model and it looked awesome! I was very, VERY proud of myself.

I'm not going to show you the whole dress, just bits of it, as I want it to be a surprise when I've finished the final printed dress, and of course post photos of the dress going down the catwalk (:
I'll post all the details about the dress when I've finished! I'm really, really excited now!

The only thing I will say is, it's called The Bone Dress.
and I had a little interview about the dress which I hope will be posted soon!
These are the small details, as you can see, my print is, my own design of black cats (hand printed!) and the skirt and elbows are pointed. On the shoulder, I top stitched the fabric so it'll point out more and shoulder pads will be put in on the final dress so it'll stand out!

I can't wait to show you more! xo

28th May 2011

Sorry for the lack on posting this week, I've been so stressed and finding it hard to find time!

I'm posting quickly to say that I've reached my limit on Flickr (I didn't even know that there was a limit!) so I'm carrying on posting 365 to my tumblr instead (:
I'm really enjoying posting 365 and hope I complete it!

Oh and on thursday, I finally went to see my nan's new 8 week old, pedigree kitten!

Isn't she the cutest thing?! Her name is Milly and I love rubbing her tummy ^.^

Anyway, I don't want this post to be completely useless so here are some good reads;

what i wore/new hair

20th May 2011

Details;

Beatles dress - H&M (bought in a large size to act as a dress ha)
White shirt - M&S
Leather leggings - Top Shop
Skull scarf - Peacocks
Head band - Primark (i know D: I hate Primark but I love sunflowers!)
Peace necklace - seller from ebay
Rings - from a small stall in my hometown
Leopard print ballet pumps - Top Shop

and blue hair...

Yes, haha. Well, that wasn't supposed to happen! I really wanted to experiment with my hair and bought purple and blue. What I was hoping for was to mix purple and conditioner together to create a pastel colour, and then have bright blue tips, like dip dye. The pastel purple worked... at the roots! It didn't take to the rest of the hair and I don't know why haha
So I just put the blue on top of the parts that didn't dye from the purple and this is what happened.
I actually quite like it, it didn't come out too bad for a mistake! I have no idea what my granddad would say haha.

I have a lot of work to catch up on this weekend, so not having too much wild fun! I'm looking forward to the end of this academic year.

Do you guys have any plans for the weekend? xoDay 5

Wednesday 18 May 2011

3.

Here (:

Yesterday was my friend's birthday! We had pizza and watched movies and ate home made birthday cake! It was sooo yummy!

I need to show you guys my dress for the summer fashion show! It's just the tester though, we make it out of cheap fabric first, then fit it to the model, then alter it on the final fabric. It's hard work but when I saw it fitted on her, I was so excited and couldn't believe I made it! It's called The Bone Dress... oooo! I'll take a photo next week.

Also next week, I'll be getting the professional photos back from our photo shoot today. We had photographs taken of our Chinese Festival dresses on the dancers and photos with them. It was a long day today but I came home to my Bon Iver albums in the post! I had a few of their songs for ages on iTunes but I am a sucker for the physical thing. I love owning CD's.

Tomorrow I'm meeting up with friends for Nando's, an old, old friend for coffee and a long catch up and seeing my friends new home! So exciting (:

Any personal projects lately from you? xo

Chinese Festival

Remember the dress I told you about that we had to design and make from scratch in 4 weeks for a Chinese Festival!? Well, here it is!

Photo's by Claire Summers
Dance choreographed and performed by Catarina Lau

This is the finished dress in action! I'm so proud of the garment, we (me and Sophie) made it in 3 days! We worked really hard and were up so late finishing the details.
The fabric is cotton poplin and it's a gorgeous pastel blue colour with a tiny, pretty floral pattern in white. The tutu underneath is white and the bottom of the fabric we shaped into petals. We sewn the collar on the front (on purpose! FASHION! haha) for a structured piece.
The dance was beautiful! It was very contemporary and contrasted the dress.
I really, really enjoyed this project. It was an amazing learning curve for me and my friend Sophie. It was difficult but it was an amazing experience for future projects that may come my way.
Cat was lovely to work with and I hope she goes far with her beautiful dancing (:

Also, thank you to Jake who travelled an hour and half to see this with me then travel back another hour and half, despite being in a lot of pain with tooth ache and ulcers! Commitment or what!? haha I'm very grateful (:

I was going to post this in the week but my account has been down for ages! I haven't been able to post in days, it's been highly frustrating! Hope it won't go again. Is this happening to anybody else?

This weekend is busy! I'm dressing as Ramona Flowers (Jake as Scott Pilgrim) on saturday for Kayley's birthday party! haha and then I'm taking part in Race for Life on sunday! I can't wait, I love doing things like this! and I've always wanted to have a fancy dress partner!

I'm excited!

What are you doing this weekend? (:

Love every single one of you! xo

Are you guys and gals working on any projects at the moment?
